János Horváth, 1956er
(December 28, 1928 - October 10, 2019)
János Horváth, once the youngest member of Hungarian parliament (after WWII) and now the oldest member of parliament at age 91, suffered in both Nazi and Communist captivity. After leaving as a political envoy of the Hungarian Revolution in 1956, he remained in the United States as a politician until the transition to democracy in Hungary in 1989. His personal story tells the larger story of Hungary under communist dictatorship (1948-1989).
